To balance it out I also weighted my Horizontal Pull-Ups (AKA Body Rows). On both of these I used sandbags for the weight. With the horizontal pull-ups I didn't use the hold method basically because I wasn't sure I would be able to get 10 reps until I built up my strength level. Today I got 10 H P-Us with an 80lber lying on my chest/stomach & 10 hold style push-ups with 90lbs on my back.
For the full workout check out the latest post in the "Near" section.
Anyway I did these explosively for combat style & the push-ups felt extra effective. I have a good slight amount of soreness in my upper back, chest & arms.
BTW I did start with 40lbs on each to get used to them. Then I increased each time I made the goal number.
Anyone else using these? I highly recommend them, the only drawback is it is a heck of a lot easier if someone is there to place the weight
