Looks like an illustration from a Connan story. | ||

I'll tell you one thing I know, if you promise not to repeat it all over the net.
That's what Jim wants to be like when he grows up. When will that be, I don't know, I'm 62 myself and I ain't grown up yet. |

Darn right, if I was even half as strong, fast & combat skilled as Conan I would be practically unbeatable in just about any venture. Since I'm not yet
62, only 46 I've got tons of time to get there

Well,
I'm a very boyish 62. Now if you don't mind, I'll go back to watching The Adams Family reruns while keeping company to Arthur the teddy bear and all my imaginary friends. |

I picked up some used Savage Sword of Conan issues at a $1 each a few years ago and recently saw some older issues at $3 each. The black and white artwork
was great and I enjoyed his adventures. They don't make comics like that anymore.

Giro,
You said it man! I've got a few of those old issues I found in an old trunk from when I was younger. Even though they occasionally have some cool new stuff out, most is kind of lame. I try to get my boys to read the old stuff which IMO has quality story lines as opposed to some of the nonsense stuff that comes out. Jim |

Not only lame but new comics are expensive as well. A buddy of mine commented the trick is to get kids to start reading the old stuff and then try and have
them progress to reading the more boring stuff later on in life. He was a military recruiter and said a lot of people signed paperwork when enlisting without
even first reading what they were signing. Yikes!

Yikes is right! I guess it is not as dangerous as in my day (when if you signed that was it) what with all the civil liberties lawsuits & such. But still a huge risk. And yeah they are more expensive & have less story pages, I guess we are paying to read more ads for junk. Jim |
